Getting Ready for Spring Market

We're working our little fingers to the bone, getting our patterns ready for Spring Market in Portland next month.  Samples to sew, posters to make, some writing to do. Here are the pictures from patterns that will be at market with Pattern Peddlers.

This is a 9 inch wreath that you can make from scraps and things at hand.  I made a cardboard circle and wrapped it with batting.  Covered that with fabric and attached the leaves with thread.  It was fun and done in an afternoon!

This is the detail from a small wall-hanging pattern called Bird of Paradise. It has one appliqued block and two pieced blocks with instructions for fusible web applique' and freezer paper applique'. The fabric has birds in it and any birdy, floral or leafy patterned fabric will do.

This is the applique' detail for Christmas Sue, another small wall hanging pattern.  It can have three applique' blocks and two pieced blocks or one applique' block and two pieced blocks.  The pieced block is an Ohio Star (my favorite).

Here is the detail for the little potholder or wall hanging I did for our annual Deutschesfest a few years ago. It's a combination of applique' and embroidery.
Here's our Heart Etui (needle case), another fun, quick pattern you can finish in an afternoon.  The front can be appliqued or left plain or made with a fussy-cut flower or heart design.

This is a twin-sized bed quilt we call Flower Basket Sue. Twelve Sues and six Flower Basket blocks.  It's fun and scrappy.  I embroidered flowers for Sue's basket but they could be done with ribbon embroidery, ruching, yo-yo's or fussy-cut pieces.

Eight Sue and Sam combos for potholders or quilt blocks, make up this pattern.  They include and Christmas and Thanksgiving theme as well as Sue with a kitten and a doll and Sam with a chicken and a puppy.  These are fun to do and the pattern includes instructions for fusible web applique'.

Prairie Sweethearts Quilt includes instructions for the scalloped edge and the option to embroider or applique' the five picture blocks showing an old fashioned country courtship. Simple and easy pieced blocks complete the lap quilt.

Coming Soon - This sample will be in the booth at Pattern Peddlers this spring.  It's called Harvest Ghost and is a wall hanging sized under 44 inches, which makes it easy to make from fat quarters and small fabric cuts.  You can back it with about a yard and a third of fabric!  Instructions for freezer paper applique' are included.

Coming Soon - Harvest Kitty is also under 44 inches wide and a lovely autumn themed piece to add to the fall decor coming up.  Kitty doesn't see the mouse enjoying his snack!

Coming Soon - Mice have their way when the cat's at play.....elsewhere.....  These two are enjoying the late summer day with sunflowers and mouse-sized feasts.  One keeps watch while the other one fills up.
Harvest Mice.

Well, friends, that's what's going to market next month. You can buy all but the Harvest pieces, now, at Pattern Peddlers. I'll let you know as soon as Harvest Kitty and Harvest Mice are out.
