How to Stay Warm in Winter

It's been 24 degrees F. here forever, it seems.  And foggy!  What better way to endure winter, than stretched out with Louis L'Amour and two kitties?  About New Years Day, my DH was glad to have the company with the weather so cold.  And, of course, Bodecia and Norman were glad to help, even though it was such a sacrifice!

Bodecia's not aware, yet, that she's the subject of an upcoming blog post.  Norman, however, is ready and waiting for top billing. " See my claws?  If not for furniture, then what?"  Notice all our furniture has coverings.

Finally, Bodecia is vaguely aware of the hovering "flashy-washy thing".  "Oh no!  Spots before my eyes!"

They're both exhausted from having had a night of uproarious fun, taking ornaments off the tree and batting them across the floor.  After so many years, you'd think they'd be bored with that.  I know WE ARE!  Well, so it's time to hibernate, definitely.  Stay comfy, all.  By the way, that's my almost-first-early-quilt providing the hugs.....a kitty fabric Turning Twenty.  The backing was a Laurel Burch kitty fabric that is so dreamy.  I still have a few little shreds of it left.

Aren't her designs wonderful?  I couldn't find a swatch of the exact one but love this one.  Thank you so much, Laurel Burch for all the lovely images and the rich colors.  Our world is better for all of that.

Coming up, I promise......Applique' Made Easy!

  2. There is nothing like a few cats to enhance reading time. Happy to hear that someone besides me reads Louis Lamour!

    1. Yup. I should smile. Louis taught me to "watch my back trail" and to always sleep with my "hand on a loaded pistol." Shake out your boots before you put them on and be sure you know what you're shooting at. Loads of wisdom, don't you think? I think I've read almost all of them.....how many are there, anyway?

    1. Yes, the have a hard time sleeping on me, though. I'm afraid I'm seldom still enough long enough for them to catch 40 winks.....er.....or a cat nap! Kathie

  5. Oh this looks nice and cozy warm with the cats. just stopped in to read some of your posts. I've not read any for awhile. I was going through my followers and reading ones I've not read in awhile. I'm getting over bronchitis and just lazing this evening after writing a post. Love your blog and the pattern for Christmas items..I am so bad about making stuff like that. Good intentions but no time with work 4x a week....but I love to read. Oh those cottage dolls look nice....maybe make one for my little granddaughter! But I've not made her flannel quilt yet. This next Christmas. Take care!

    1. Ah Becky, you're just in time. Let's tip toe through the living room and head for my sewing room. Here, you start on the dolls and I'll get going on that flannel quilt for you. After all, what are friends for? Kathie
